Bestor Architecture won a competition to design a future train wrap for LAX’s new people mover, slated to open in 2025. Multi-stripe, multi-cultural, these colors reference the varied cultures that make Los Angeles unique and special. Inspired by Jonathan Gold’s love of the city’s culinary life, Colby posters, and the diverse cultures that make up LA, we created a graphic matrix to highlight LA’s diverse population and community. It is an abstract pattern for everyone – welcoming and friendly. Each double car layout represents our journey through the cultural landscape of Los Angeles through a bright color story. Elements included the train wrap pattern, logo refinement, signage and wayfinding.
